Insights for a More Socially-Minded Communications Industry: Chinese Lessons
On Wednesday 3rd of September, World Kindness China held its first Business Engagement Roundtable – Engaging Champions. Connecting business, in terms of resources, innovation, and knowledge to the non-profit sector in China lies at the core of WKC’s mission.
A series of informal networking and brainstorming events, Engaging Champions targets key leaders in the thriving business community in Shanghai. With the objective of keeping the finger on the pulse of the business sector in China, these roundtables add a very peculiar value: that of bouncing ideas around and getting the different perspectives of like-minded professionals who care about making a difference in the world.
In a cozy setting, entrepreneurs and seasoned professionals in the field of communication and marketing contributed their thoughts and voices, helping WKC gather Insights for a More Socially-Minded Communications Industry.
A lively and spontaneous conversation amongst participants ensued:
- Current trends in Corporate Social Responsibility on the global level and their implications in the Chinese context were presented.
- Opportunities as well as obstacles to more focused and strategic CSR initiatives were also fully tackled, and
- A positive outlook into how these young, optimistic, and engaged communicators see the CSR scene in China in the coming years was put forward.
The outcome was a suite of insights and observations, which we hope will continue to grow as Engaging Champions collects more impactful and innovative perspectives from young professionals in China.
